Three small habits that make AI translation feel hand-written by a native speaker.
French has two 'you' forms. Tutoiement (tu) is for friends, family and children; vouvoiement (vous) is for strangers, elders, clients and anything professional. Add 'translate in the vous form' or 'use tu, casual' before your text and the verbs, pronouns and possessives all snap into the right register.
European French is the default, but say 'Quebec French' for Canadian audiences (courriel instead of email, fin de semaine instead of week-end) or 'African French' for Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire or DRC contexts. Belgian and Swiss numbers (septante, nonante) can also be requested explicitly.
French civility expects a Bonjour at the start and a Merci / Au revoir at the end of almost every interaction - even a one-line email. When translating short messages, leave those niceties in (or ask the model to add them) so your French reads polite, not abrupt.
No account, no install, no waiting. Drop your English in and read it back in French in seconds.
